Pyrotechnic Actuators are designed to produce a high mechanical work output through rapid movement of a piston.
They are electrically actuated and will operate within milliseconds of receiving the appropriate impulse; a rate which is almost impossible to achieve with a mechanical source of energy. Their compact size, high reliability and good environmental resistance make Pyrotechnic Actuators ideal for use in various applications.

The actuators are pyrotechnic devices but EXCLUDED from UN Class 1.
As no dangerous goods they are designated as not presenting a significant hazard from explosion in accordance with the UN recommendations on the transport of dangerous goods.
This declassification is in compliance with ADR, IMDG, RID, ADN regulations.
